Sharing Love Through Taste with Lee Kum Kee
Lee Kum Kee the leader in Authentic Chinese sauces is celebrating 123 years of giving superior quality products to every home. Last September 24 and 25, mall goers from Market! Market had a chance to witness culinary masters Chef Ernest Reynoso Gala, Chef Him Uy de Baron and Chef Sandy Daza as they shared their culinary expertise and their specially created Lee Kum Kee Recipes for the fourth leg of the weekend cooking festival.
The cooking extravaganza started off with a great start with renowned chef and food columnist Chef Ernest Reynoso Gala, showing the audience how easy it is to prepare something special for their loved ones. To the delight of the audience, he shared three amazing recipes that will be a sure fire hit in the kitchen. His mouthwatering demonstration included recipes for Chinese Fried Rice with Lee Kum Kee Hoisin Sauce. He also shared how to cook Chicken Wings with Lee Kum Kee Chili Garlic Sauce. And lastly, Chef Ernest shared how to prepare his recipe for Sizzling Chinese Beefsteak with Lee Kum Kee Char Siu Sauce.
On the second part of the demo, Chef Him Uy de Baron stepped in to the Lee’s Kitchen to demonstrate three delectable dishes. Chef Him demonstrated how to prepare Beef Bulgogi “Taco” with Chili Garlic using Lee Kum Kee Premium Soy Sauce. He also shared how to prepare Chili Garlic Sauce especially created for this dish. Next recipe is the Mushroom, Chive and Cheese Dumpling featuring Lee Kum Kee products such as the Chui Chow Chili Oil, Premium Soy Sauce and Premium Oyster Sauce. Also included is the Grilled Hoisin Pork Chops with Grilled Peach Salsa using Lee Kum Kee XO Sauce, Plum Sauce, and Hoisin Sauce.
On the second day of the event, guests were treated to another demonstration from one of the most familiar faces in the Philippine culinary scene. Not a stranger in giving tips and sharing his kitchen secrets, Chef Sandy Daza returns to the Cook with the Master kitchen and amazed the audience with his quick and easy Lee Kum Kee recipes that will surely be recreated this weekend. In each of the recipes, Chef Sandy highlighted the various Lee Kum Kee products that he used. For Chili Pork Binagoongan, Chef Sandy used Lee Kum Kee Fine Shrimp Paste and Chili Garlic Sauce. He also used another Lee Kum Kee product which is the Hoisin Sauce for his Crispy Chicken with Hoisin Peanut Sauce recipe. Of course Chef Sandy also shared with the audience his very own Sandy’s Fried Rice with Lee Kum Kee products such as the Premium Soy Sauce, Premium Oyster Sauce, and XO Sauce.
Lucky audience members of the cooking demo also got to show their skills in the kitchen as they shared the kitchen and the stage with Chef Ernest, Chef Him and Chef Sandy cooking the special recipes as well. Two separate kitchen areas were setup for the instant apprentices complete with all of the ingredients and Lee Kum Kee products that they needed to prepare the dish. As the chefs, shared the step by step process of the recipe, they also guided the demo participants as they cook with the masters.
Attendees of the cooking festival also had a lot of fun as they participated in the various activities during the weekend. The interactive booth area called Lee’s Kitchen gave the participants a hands-on experience of the products, and a deeper appreciation of the brand’s heritage. The area was divided into three main sections. The history wall showcased the heritage of Lee Kum Kee, the tasting area showed the variety of dips and sauces. At the end of the interactive area, Lee Kum Kee fans took home cool prizes from Lee Kum Kee and a lovely photo souvenir.
To celebrate their 123rd anniversary, Lee Kum Kee brought you not one but four cooking demos featuring five of the most distinguished chefs in the Philippine culinary scene. After four weeks of successful and well-attended cooking demos, Lee Kum Kee now brings you the Cook with the Masters Grand Cooking Demo featuring Lee Kum Kee’s ambassador for Southeast Asia, Chef Bruce Lim. This time, everything will be grander as not only the audience will get to cook with the Master. There will be culinary students, media, and celebrities who will Cook with the Master.
